Treasures of Mayhem

$49.99

264 pages. 595 magic items. 150 gemstones. And a lot more than another list of treasure.

Treasures of Mayhem is a massive collection of treasure, magical items, and ideas designed to make finding something valuable more interesting than simply writing another number on a character sheet.

Inside you'll find 595 magic items, many with their own lore, unusual side effects, and creative uses that may not be immediately obvious. These aren't just rewards to hand out after an encounter—they're opportunities for players to experiment, improvise, and occasionally discover that what an item can do is far more interesting than what it was intended to do.

Treasure goes well beyond magic items. Treasures of Mayhem explores artwork, pottery, and other valuables that can make a treasure hoard feel like something that actually came from another place and time. It also includes information on 150 different gemstones, giving Game Masters considerably more to work with than another handful of generic gems.

Use It With Mayhem—or Don't

Treasures of Mayhem was created as an early introduction to the ideas behind Mayhem, but you don't need Mayhem to use it. The book was designed so its treasures, ideas, lore, and magic items can be adapted for use with virtually any fantasy role-playing game.

In fact, Treasures of Mayhem predates the completed Mayhem rules. Mayhem has evolved considerably since this book was written, so some of the Mayhem-specific rules and terminology in this original edition no longer reflect the current system. Mayhem itself has not yet been released, so this won't affect players using the book with another RPG.

What remains is 264 pages packed with things to discover, give to players, build adventures around, or quietly place in a treasure hoard and wait to see what happens.

Because the best treasure isn't necessarily the one worth the most.

It's the one the players are still talking about three adventures later.

A Note About the Artwork

Treasures of Mayhem was one of our earliest releases, created before we established our current approach to game artwork. The illustrations in this edition were created using generative AI.

Since then, Dreadnaught Publishing has chosen a different direction. We will be  commissioning new artwork from human artists, and Treasures of Mayhem is planned for a future revised edition featuring new, human-created illustrations.

We want you to know exactly what you are purchasing. The copies and PDF offered here are the original edition, with its original AI-generated artwork.
